BULA plants Beach Ultimate seeds around the world to help the sport grow. It does so by organizing one special Beach Ultimate tournament per year in an area that has potential.

In 2002 the BUTT was in Brazil. It was the first international tournament there and while the Brazilian players took care of sponsorship, fields, accommodation, etc... BULA took care of all the international work, website, promotion, etc... It turned out to be an amazing success. The Brazilian Flying Disc Association got TV coverage and 2 new teams got started as a result of the tournament. It is now an annual event. One seed planted... one tree starting to grow...

The second seed was planted in Lanzarote (Canary Islands) in November of 2003. Again it was a big success that got a young group of players the exposure they needed. Now they are a big force in Spanish Beach Ultimate.

In 2004, the seed was planted in Portugal with the inaugural World Championships and it led to dramatic increase in local players. Something they had been trying for many years.

In October 2005 the BUTT was held in Israel and that led to a flood of TV and radio coverage, putting Beach Ultimate on the map in Israel.

In 2006 we intended to have a BUTT close to the World Championships grass Ultimate in Perth, but that never materialized.

For 2007 we had a group of players in The Hague interested in having the BUTT in Holland but that never worked out. For 2008 the BUTT has been awarded to organizers in New Zealand who are organizing 4 tournaments in 5 weeks!
